outdoors? are you looking for someplace woodsy? how about Mount Tom in Holyoke or the Summit House in Easthampton Mohawk Trail in northwestern MA Mount Greylock Bish Bash Falls Quabbin reservoir Mount Wachusett Moore State park in Paxton Crane Beach Duxbury Beach Horseneck Beach Boston Harbor Islands Blue Hills Ogunquit ME you could head to Cape Cod, traffic over the bridges won't be too bad during the week, or just stay on the mainland side of the canal ,it has a nice bike path there and a nature trail that runs parallel for part of the way or do you want someplace more built up Boston has many scenic areas: Beacon Hill, and the Back Bay Fens come to mind also check out Salem, Newport RI and downtown Providence and the area around Brown University
