It's very important that I do this the right way. (I sort of told the people I was working with that I knew how....but I don't) I bought a new faucet from Lowe's, and it has instructions on the back but I think I'm missing something. They also said something about the plumbing being bad and hard to work with? I've never done any kind of plumbing in my life.

You'll need to purchase a tap that matches the middle to middle size of your sink.I endorse Price Pfister, will rate just a little extra, however will final ceaselessly. Turn off the close off valves on scorching and bloodless. There's this distinctive wrench. Looks like a circular steel rod with a tee manage at one finish, and variety of a part moon with enamel at the different finish. Cost approximately $10. The toothed finish may also be swiveled for loosening(counterclockwise) or tightening. Use the device to loosen either side. And cast off the historic tap. If imperative, change the bendy hose or pipe that connects the tap to the copper pipe. Don't skimp in this, a couple of greenbacks extra will make the task alot less difficult. Fittings will need to fit on each ends of the bendy hose. Apply plumbers putty to the threads as you construct. Don't over tighten. When it is in combination, open the close off valves and verify for leaks.
In laymans terms, you are screwed! Naw, just kidding! under the sink and on the back side there are two lines attached to the faucet. Use a crescent wrench to loosen the connectors (turning them to the left as you are looking at the back of the sink. (make sure the supply water is off). After removing them, there will be a nut on each side of the faucet loosen and remove them. Set the new faucet in place and reverse the actions. Now you are a plumber!
