I've Never Preformed befor for singing. my partner and i did a practice recording and i sounded fine in person but not so good on the recording, my partner said that is was because i was nervous? does anyone have any suggestions on how i can not be so nervous for when we record again or preform?
I've preformed quite a bit, so I've got to say: A. Deep breaths B. When live, don't look people directly in the eye, look int their general direction until you get over it C. Do vocal exercises before a recording or before the performance, warm-ups make all the difference in the world D. When you're nervous, don't show it! Try to stand straight and look confident when you're live, you're tone should reflect it. E. Posture helps A lot. Back straight, Head tall, Feet shoulderwidth apart, Knees loose but straight, Toes straight ahead, Deep breaths with your belly. That's what my Sensai always says, hope it helps~!
not to sound like a jerk, but here are three suggestions... A- have a drink before you go out!! B- Valium! C- try your darndest to get over it. cry backstage, yell, imagine people naked, or stare into the lights so you cant see anyone. just TRY. if you make an honest effert, who cares what other people think? walk out and ROCK OUT!
I've performed as both a singer and a dancer, and it can be scary. Try to remember why you're doing what you're doing: It's to have fun! You're singing for the enjoyment of interpreting music, and the feel of your voice as it flows from you. You're performing to share your enjoyment of your music, and that brings more joy to others. So, practice your songs, learn your lyrics, remember to breathe and support your voice, have fun, and go out and nail it!
