I am looking at buying a house but want to know how much it would cost to get all new carpet. It is a small two bedroom house around 1000 square feet i would guess. I don't have a lot of money. I know you can get cheap and expensive carpet i want not the expensive and not the cheapest so how much do you think it would cost to have someone do it and buy the carept.
if you do put new carpet down, do most of the work your self pull up old carpet and prep the floor your self.take up the carpet tack and all the nails or stapples and clean the floors. this will save you a lot of money even if you have to hire someone to put the new carpet down.. when you buy carpet you dont have to have the store install it, you can hire an out side contracter to do it for you for a lot less money..look in your phone book for carpet installers..
Just carpeted my home, 1280 square feet of carpet, with a very good pad and very good carpet. With the taking up and removal of the old carpet, help moving furniture, etc, the final cost was $4,500.00 Might I suggest Lowe's or Home Depot. They have a special now with 10% off and they carry good carpet.
call Stanley Steemer or yet another carpet cleansing corporation to scrub the carpets returned. it quite is cooling down slightly now so open the abode windows and enable the abode breath sparkling air. Burn lots of candles, incense, or use plug in air fresheners. sturdy good fortune.
I would think that you can get carpet for between $10 and $100 per square yard. There are nine square feet to a square yard. If you have 1000 square feet you would have about 110 square yards so that carpet could run between $1000 and more.
Yes.. I know what you mean.. A cheap but still adequate carpet would run around $700 or $750. BUT.. you did not say what is on the floor now.. If it is a carpet but a ratty one.. that would have to come out along with those little wood tack pieces around the sides of the carpet.. tacked to the floor.. To save some money, and if you were getting a quote.. tell the guy that YOU are going to remove the carpet yourself as well as the tack boards and that you would then vacuuming/clean the floor(by sweeping and/or vacuuming of course) to get it ready for the new carpet... I am assuming that you can do that.. It is not difficult.. the only difficult part of doing that is rolling up the existing old carpet and taking it to the garbage can.. What I have done in the past is to get the carpet outside or in the garage and cut it up and put the pieces into the garbage can.. I do all that myself always to save money.
