Question:

New Central Air System?

A week ago me and my friend (professional hvac tech) installed a new gas fired furnace and central air into my houseI have never had central air before and have a questionI have my house set to 72 and it is now 74 in my houseThe air kicked in at 73 but did not cool it downThe air is very cold and all of the duct work is also very coldI checked the two copper pipes that lead to the compressor outside and one is sweating which is a good thing.I was wondering if my problem could be due to a wireless thermostat that we installedI had my friend come look at everything and everything tested perfectly and I dont want to bother him againAny ideas or suggestions would be greatthanks.

Answer:

Maybe you need a new straightener.
A hairdresser actually told me not to use too much conditioner if you want to straighten your hair because it keeps it straight longer and shinierJust put conditioner at the end of your rootsI hope this helps
The first thing that jumps out at me is the possibility of your home lacking insulation, and the doors and windows not being energy efficientThere's never a down side to additional attic insulationThe attic should be very well ventilatedYou said the duct work is coldIs it flex duct or is it old steel box style? The steel sheet metal should be insulated. If the flex is cold,it shouldn't bePerhaps the flex should be wrapped with insulation designed for extra efficiencyYour a/c guy should have told you that all thermostats have a 1 to 3 degree offset built into themSome people see the temp not hit that set temp on the nose then they start flipping outI'm not saying you are,but I understand your concernOn a personal level: the worst invention ever? The digital thermostatFor something that there's no way for it to be an exact science, except for in space? Analog was just finereallyCongrats on the new systemkeep it clean and do the required regular maintenance and it will take care of you.
