NEW ORLEANS - Thieves hauled off $100,000 worth of heavy equipment that was being used to help build a Lower Ninth Ward memorial to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. A Bobcat excavator and a Bobcat T300 Skid Steer Loader, both of which require trailers or flatbed trucks to transport, were removed from the site sometime between midnight and 6:30 a.m. Saturday, construction company officials said.In the neighborhood that remains nearly pitch black at night almost a year after the levees failed, the equipment didn't last three days at the site.Can you really blame them???? Almost a year and no fucin homes put up and some assholes are tryin to build a memorial for the dead people (no disrespect) and sayin fuc the ones that are alive, I would have stole the equipment too. Why the hell are they even building a memorial in a town where anyone that its quot;SUPPOSEDquot; to be for isnt even there to see it because they are out of a home and jobs, what the fucs the purpose????
I think the equipment could have been used to build something else after they built the monument.
Dude what the heck is ur problem the people committed a crime I have been there helping people gut their houses and rebuild their homes and they are so thankful for the help and there isn't any need for CRIMINALS stealing the equiptment. they were prob criminals before the storm and deserve to make restitution for their activities
Typical 9th ward crap! Even if those machines were for building new homes they still would have been stolen. Those people rely on welfare and are used to getting handouts. They have no sense of what is right, not to mention not one once of a work ethic. They just sit around and blame the rest of the world for the hell hole that they call home! Good riddance, let the 9th ward rot!
It became likely an same ones shown on television who were hauling off everythng they could get their hands on. fairly, in a city without eelectricity, no operating water, no nutrition why do you want to thieve 20 packing bins of Nike shoes? I said that on nattional television very last 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. i might want to were stealing nutrition. yet i'd not were stupid adequate no to evacuate at the same time as a category 4 became heading my way.
