Question:

Nismo cold air intake instalation?

i have a 2002 sentra spec v and im trying to install a CAI i have everything done but there are two problems. there is a small hose that looks like its connected from the transmission to the stock air filter do i pull that off and throw away? and ? 2 the intake is specially made for my car but the intake is to fat to fit through the whole beside my battery the directions say shave off 3/4 of a inch from the METAL. i have tried everything sand paper power tools can someone PLEASE tell me how to shave that off and what to do about the hose thank you

Answer:

I grind away that metal with a die grinder. You could use tin snips. the small hose is a transmission vent that curls back down just tie it up to the drivers side where the three gray plugs are. Temporary you can connect the cone directly to the first pipe until you find a drill motor and several stone bits to grind away at the hole next to the battery. I reccomend a Northern tool Harbor freight or Home depot or Lowes for a 1/4 inch cheep drill and a couple grinding stone bits that will doo the trick. If there is not clearence around the Cold air intake pipe it will rubb and make a awfull noise. And do not drive into deep water ever! If you decide to use the rubber coupler not the foam one water can get sucked right into the motor. The air intake is located about 8 above the ground
metals have luster, are malleable, are ductile, conduct heat and electricity nonmetals do not
first the tube is the vent for the trans just wire tie it to brake line from master cylinder and the holes issue get a cut tool like a dremell it will do the job
