Question:

nuclear power station physics?

in a thermal nuclear power station explain the function of the fuel rods, control rods, coolant, heat exchanger, and turbine.

Answer:

Im know working of reactor of cold syntez. When achieved critical mass of fuel (it may be 140 tonnes of U239 or 400 of U239 as used on plants for vary sizes) coefficient increasing of neutrons stay 1.0005 or so than atom reaction and decay occured.(because fuel rods) After according to temperature of water in cooling rods get the needed power of block. 60% degree of water is in 50 MWatts reactor. It is 100 gramm of plutonium in a day produced. And so decay of U238.It is very very much.In bomb only less then one gramm decay from a few tonnes. For to stop reaction inside block hit the carbon rods in 0.05 secund. Space between canals is carbons bricks 100% pure with working temperature 200-300 degree celcium of course.Formerly people do the reaction in tank with water simply.Decay is not reaction. It is different things. For to get electricity need get the wapor for electroturbin.I can tell my thinking but it would be not really as to heat the water up to wapor.
the fuel rods are what give the energy, namely plutonium or uranium. the control rods are what slows down the fission so u don't get chenobyl all over again the coolant is.... i woulda thought its the same as the heat exchanger actually, but as the name suggests it keeps the vessel for the fuel rods at an acceptable temperature. the heat exchanger is where all the heat energy gets transfered to, namely water which is then used to drive the turbine/s the turbine is what converts the heat energy from the water to electricity.
