im about to change my oil and drain my transmission pan at the same time is that a good ideal and what oil and transmission fluid should i use ive been using 10w 30 oil ford motorcraft oil and i don‘t know what kind of transmission fluid is in there but the car is a 1995 mercury grand marquis and it has 185, 434 miles on it and i use 93 and or 89 {shell‘s}gas at the gas station will it start smoking soon
I'm not sure what year but ford products use a different kind of transmission fluid MARCONI they did change I believe to use the dextron products I'm just not sure of which year. as for your gas. your cars computer is set up for you to use 87 octane gas anything else just wont get you the right fuel economy or power.
If the tranny fluid been changed every 30 to 40 thousand mile it is good to change if it has never been change your going to run into problems after changing. Mercron fluid
