Answer:

Coal was expensive, so fires were made in the rooms that were used. Servants would be told to build fires in the rooms that were needed. There were fires in the parlors, but there might not be fires in the library or morning room unless someone asked for one. It depended on the routine of the particular family. Fires would be built in the family bedrooms, but not in the guest rooms unless there was a guest.
To go riding -MOST IMPORTANT, a safe registered helmet -Jodphurs, or long trousers to prevent your legs from rubbing -riding boots, or some kind of small boot. *use common sense* as in no sandals, sneakers workboots etc. :D -comforable top/tshirt/jumper Optional -chaps/gaitors -safety vest -gloves
A Or anything with that sort of heel. Runners are okay, but make sure you do not tie your laces. Instead, tighten the laces and wedge them as much as possible into the sides of your runners.
A top that covers your shoulders so if you fall you dont graze them leggings, or jeggings Wellies and thats pretty much the basics You should also have a hat borrowed or if your taking lessons the riding school should have hats, just make sure it fits :)
Always wear a helmet. even if the horse is like the best, most broke horse, Still wear a helmet. Long pants are nice, you don't want short pants in case you fall, and short pants give you rubs. Wear gloves if you like (Ones with grip) so that the reins don't slip Wear a boot with a heel (rubber boots are good too) Long sleeve shirt, or t-shirt. (Must cover your shoulders) Have fun!
