for starters do not put pull ups on him.That is awefule for his feelings.Yes I know its messy.Oh how i know but the effect of a 12 yr old wearing pull ups is a whole lot worse than anyother mess.Buy a mattress protector(rubber sheet,Plastic zip up case, or even a small blue tarp) put it on the mattres and then put a cloth pad for softness so he doesn't feel the cover put a sheet on that. Leave extra set of bed clothes in room clean and folded.Let him have his accidents, let him wash his own bed clothes and clothes. Draw as little attention as possible to his problem. He is getting older he needs privacy and resposibility. Wetting the bed is so hard for them and havinga big deal about it and buying diapers(thats all pull ups are) is so so so so hard for them. if he has been to the doctor and had a sonogram of his bladder and it is developed ok than just wait it out. I have dealt with this problem with two of my children and i have had 2 friends with the same problem,one didnt stop till she was over 16. Its frustrating as parents we want to fix everything but sometimes we can't.There are so many reason why children wet the bed.If the obvious(medication, less fluids, waking frequently) don't do the trick, then you just might have to just be supportive.I wish you so much luck things will get better,just relax
I would say to talk with your dr about it. I had a cousin do that at that age they always got told that all kids grow at there own rate. That they may have a smaller bladder. I have a 6 year old that is still wetting. I got told not to let her drink anything after supper and to make sure she goes before going to bed. She is a very sound sleeper and can't wake up in time.
