Question:

Performance exhaust systems?

I have a 1990 supra turbo(3.0L i6 7m-gte), just got a new turbo and i want to take every measure to try to keep it in good condition so what are a few companies that make good cat back exhausts and high flow catalytic converters? I don‘t want something loud but but some fair sized piping would help prevent the hot exhaust fumes from building up. Also because i don‘t really want anything too loud the exhaust has to either have or be able to fit a silencer to help dampen the noise.

Answer:

well putting the silencer is going to rob horse power your best bet to get a nice horse power mark from the exhaust is to run like 3 1/2 or a 4 straight exhaust that was the turbo will be able to breath better. having a turbo u want the biggest exhaust it lets the turbo spool faster so dont silence the car your only robbing horse power
There are many companies that make catback exhausts for the mark 3 supra. Just to name the more popular ones are HKS, greddy, blitz, and apexi. Greddy is usually the quiestest out the the 4 but it really depends on the application. HKS and apexi are usually the best sounding. They have more of a deep grunt to it.
