The real UFC gloves(the official ones fighters really use) have more padding, and look different. It would not really make too much of a different. If you punched somebody with the less padded training gloves, you could hurt your hand, but fighters always wrap or tape their hands before putting on their gloves. Downfalls: None, really. Just don't get into any fights, unless your sparring then that's different. Also, if you get into a street fight, or somebody wants to fight you, and you put on UFC gloves, you look like a complete idiot and posuer.
