Question:

PHYSICS HELP!!!! - Rubber band elasticity experiment?

I have to research the structure of rubber and why it stretches in the way that it does. I had to load weights and measure the extension and then measure the negative extension. I have to explain the loading curve and the difference it has with the curve produced by removing the weights. I thought it was to do with Hooke's law but other sources says rubber bands don't follow Hooke's law. Please help.

Answer:

just go to the auto part and tell them whats your problem is and they will tell you what is the part name. thats is what i do
Its referred to as aspect molding,or door molding. you may get known stuff at automobile aspects shops,or actual change aspects at a broking service. maximum rubber strips are hung on with a particular glue.
If you want a rubber stamp with your name or some message, there are a number of sites online that will make one for your. (I had one made for my wife when she did a lot of paper crafts, it said Handmade by ) There are also several products on the market for this. Including rubber blocks that you can carve. There also a product you heat and then can press into objects to get patterns or textures. Go to any large hobby or paper crafts store and ask. They should be able to provide you with some options.
the part is simply called a door latch. take my advice, get a new door! my step dad's dodge ram had that problem so we welded a new latch in but when we did it melted the door locks and now the door does not lock and the weld made it fragile so the door could easily break. also on my step dad's truck the door is harder to close now that we've done that.
