I want to take a music class in college for fun and to learn something new. Which is more recommendable to learn as a first timer- the piano or the keyboard and why? Thanks!
It depend on why u wanna learn it. if u wanna compose music then the piano is much better it will even help with most other instruments but if u wanna do it jus for the fun of learnin a instrument then the keyboard is much better
A keyboard is much better for A first timer. It's a much easier concept to under stand, there are no foot pedals to worry about. When you become more firmiliar, and a better player you can always upgrade to a piano. When you learn how to play the keyboard before the planning it' easier cause you don't have to worry about the footpedals and keys, you just have to worry about footpedals. I've learned! Good luck!
Piano because with the keyboard all you do is play one chord and add sound distortion effects. Besides if you want to at some point go from the keyboard to the piano you will find the transition very difficult as the key are much heavier on the piano. Go from piano to keyboard however and it will be a piece of cake.
keyboard first of all they are portable second you can make all these effects on it like to make it sound like a snare drum or something third its cheaper definitly for a first timer i would get a keyboard i mean they have the same notes but a keyboard is much easier to me
