I need to make a 4 offset with 6 sch 40 weld pipe. Obviously, my problem is fittings take off more than the offset I need to make. I remember in class there was a method to layout a square of ? length, and figure out cut marks to cut the 90 into two, and create any offset needed (by flipping the cut fitting around and welding it together). Does anyone know this method, or any other easy methods to make a 4 offset? I'm not hacking and guessing, I know there is a way to get it right the first time. I'm using a 90, I'm not mitering the pipe either
Understanding the principles and differences in materials; the methods to attach them; and fabricating the device to withstand the forces it will undergo. And of course listening to others who've done it and can pass on know-how without undergoing the agony of leaning the hard way.
Until fairly recently, historically, people didn't even understood what lightning was. Their only protection was to pray to zeus (or some other deity associated with lightning) not to be too pissed off at them.
