I have a plastic canvas SantaThe kind where you sew yarn onto the canvasIt really needs a good cleaning but I am unsure how to go about it without fraying the yarn or damaging the canvasIt is about 20 yrs old and my Mom made it for meMy mom has passed away so it means alot to mean and I dont't want to ruin itDoes anyone have any suggestions on how to clean it? Thank you in advance.
First thing to try is vacuuming itthis removes surface dust from the fibers, and may be an adequate cleaning Most of the plastic canvas ornaments from that era came with either acrylic or polyester yarn, so can be soaked in lukewarm soapy water, rinsed in copious running water, patted dry with a folded towel, and then air driedWet cleaning is almost always more dangerous than simple vacuuming, but if you avoid rubbing the wet yarns, chances are you'll do fine.
That is an excellent question
