Question:

please maths prob help please (cylinders) 10 points?

1) adam draws a net of a cylinder on paper. the sheet of paper measures 20cm by 15 cm.he cuts out the net and makes a cylinder.its radius is 2 cm and its hight is 10 cm show that the net will fit on the paper2) a copper pipe has inner and outer radius of 2.6 cm and 3 cm. it is 500cm long. find the volume of copper in the pipe.

Answer:

1) the net of of the cylinder would be for height 4 x radius + 10 then work out the circumference of the the circle with radius 2 C 2pi x 2 and that would be how wide the rectangle. 2) I don't get the term inner and outer radius. obviously I haven't studied that yet :S
Thats an interesting question.I am not well versued.but in a nano sense I think a electron would have a magnetic field.
You'll have to find an electron that moves in a circular orbit, first. Unlike planets that revolve around the Sun in a set elliptical pattern, electrons do not revolve around the nucleus of an atom in a set fashion, an electron's orbit varies constantly and is thought to be elliptical as well.
1) Sheet 20x 15 300 sq cm Surface of cylinder 2 PI R L 2*2*PI 10 40 PI 125.7 So net will fit on the paper 2) Volue PI R^2-PI r^2 L PI( R^2 -r^2) L PI(R+r)(R-r) L PI 5.6) ( 0.4) 500 3520 Cu cm
