Im deciding whether to get a wooden floor in my room or a carpet. I already have a carpet and it is really old and smells bad. Lol. What should I get? And why?
Wood floors are much more attractive than carpets.
Re-carpet. The covering helps keep the floor warmer lowering your electric, gas or propane bill. I hsf carpet at my lst home, dirty and old. We put throw rugs on top of it to cover the stains. My grandmother (mema) has wooden floors in each room except the bedrooms. They are old and stained, even after being cleaned. It is time for new carpet in those rooms. .
With a wood floor you can get a rug to put near your bed so you don't have to step on the cold floor and you can switch rugs easily. It's easier to clean as well. My carpet is old but doesn't smell, and I do like it, but I would probably pick hardwood floor if I had to choose. It's just easier to decorate.
