Question:

price of copper (plumbing)?

I received a price for repiping my entire home about 1 YEAR ago, the guy said cost relates to price of copper. it seems copper has gone down since about a year ago. ..is there a way to compare the cost of copper from certain month last year to current prices. any web sites or anything?

Answer:

Current copper prices are up enough that you see news articles about copper being stolen out of power substations, copper wires being pulled out of the ground, etc. Copper prices were up in early 2006 and have been high since. It's varied a bit but has been at a high level for some time. The link below leads to a graph that should help you.
