Question:

Pyrex dish instead of roasting pan?

The chicken drumsticks recipe calls for a roasting pan, but I don't have oneI do have a pyrex dish, would that work? I also heard of people lining their pans with rolled up aluminum strips in place of a rackAny ideas?

Answer:

Friend of mine wrapped a potato in a paper grocery bag and microwaved it quite a whileThe microwave caught fire and had to be replacedWould paper serve your purposeSmoke all over the lunch roomWe kidded him for a month.
Look up the definition of specific heat or thermal capacity Also, if you're restricting yourself to microwave energy, you're going to have to deal with what microwaves can excite.
You could use asbestos but cancer gave it a bad nameWhen I was in the E.Rthey gave a wool blanket from the microwaveThat's about all I've got.
First of all the foil strips will not work the same as a rackA rack lifts the food from the bottom of the pan to keep it away from the fatLining any cooking pan with foil is usually a way of either preventing the food from sticking to the pan OR as a way of insulating the food so that the cooking process is less fierce on the surface of the food which is touching the pan Finally cooking your drumsticks in a pyrex dish will be just as effective as a roasting tin - infact it will just be little more gentle on the food and will possibly cook the food slightly slower due to the surface temperature of the pyrex being lower than that of a metal roasting tin Hope this helps
