my step brother gave me an energy crystal and i think its quartz. how can i use this and what will it do for me. this is something im really interested in and its a new way of seeing things i need right now.
I've been installing countertops for years now and I'd personally recommend Quartz for the most part. 1 is durability (much durable than granite coz it's man made) does not get scratched easily (but it does). 2 is that it does not emit any Radon (AKA radiation).3 Very less maintenance, no need for sealing, need not to worry about stains.
I'm not sure what quartz is,but you need to be careful with granite.If you drop something heavy on it,it will chip.If you can afford it,go for corian counter tops.They are almost indestructable,and if they get scratched,you can sand it out.Very expensive though.
Granite is very nice but expensive. If you are looking at reselling your home in the future granite is a good selling point.
