It depends on the quality. There is a roadcut near Mt. Rushmore in SD that has a lot of rose (pink) quartz that is there for anyone to stop and collect. Other pink quartz, from Brazil, sells for a few dollars a gram... that is the other extreme.
I would not think so. It is all around in California. Rosy quartz is often associated with gold.
