Question about carbon monoxide detector ?

In California, it is the law to install carbon monoxide detectors in addition to smoke detectors in a rental single family unit.Do I have to replace the smoke detectors I have hard-wired and battery back-up with the new kind which is a combination of smoke-and-carbon monoxide ? Or, can I leave the smoke detectors there and just install the battery operated carbon monoxide ? The big reason is that I saw the new kindcombination carbon monoxideandsmoke detectors at Home Depot, and they are $ 55.00 each. They are very expensive, therefore, can I just put the cheap kind battery operated ? Thanks

Welcome to the *wonderful* world of home ownership! In the almost eleven years we have lived in our current home, we have had to replace our submersible pump three times, our pressure tank once, our furnace, our water softener, our roof shingles, all of our rain gutters and downspouts. We've had to have our DWV, Schedule-40 pipe to our septic tank replaced as well as have further work done on our septic tank. We've had to tear up the carpet on the basement floors, have had our central air worked on at least three times and our new furnace worked on at least twice, as well as repairs on our built-in dishwasher. We've replaced our on-ground pool liner twice, and need to do so again, replaced our pool pump twice, and our pool fiberglas privacy panels once. We've also had to add a new 240 volt circuit for our electric range (former owners had an LP gas range), replace our brand-new refrigerator gasket (after 8eight or nine years), buy a different microwave oven and need to upgrade our circuit breaker to 200 amps. Oh, I almost forgot: we had to replace the kitchen faucets *and* the bathroom sink and faucets! The electric co. has had to replace the Security Light, the telephone co. has had to replace the service box and we still need to replace part of our inside telephone wiring! Our brand new clothes washer (bought in 1996) is tearing holes in our clothes and we've had to buy a new clothes dryer in the last nine or ten years! Have you checked your pressure tank? That's a strong possibility. Do you have a submersible or a siphon-jet well pump?
when you say check valve do you mean the foot valve that keeps the water from draining back to the well. it would be at the lowest pipe hanging in your well. it sounds to me like your problem is a leaking foot valve
You were right it sounds like your pump is going bad, you are steadily losing pressure and the pump is running all the time. Sorry but this is a sure sign a new pump is on your horizon, with it running all the time it probably won't be long.
It could be your pressure switch on your bladder tank gone bad. Trust me I know what I am talking about. We have a well and had to put in a new one because it ran dry. We have replaced our pressure switch a couple of different times. Start at the pressure switch first and hopefully that will take care of your problem. If not could be the pump, maybe something in bladder tank. If not then I am just no help to you. p.s. I really hope I am help though.
fire extinguishers is the bast you can be 2 ft away from the fire a fire blankets is good for if someone is on fire but you can use for more then that but you need to on top of the fire . for home use i say a fire extinguishers. i say you need to call your fd and there will tell and show how to use it right. hope you do not need to use it
