i have rather loose bowls usually, and have had problems off and on for a few months at least with diarrheai might get it more when i'm nervous or excited about somethingAnyway, i am leading a boot camp for the next five days and will be outside marching, training, etcfor seven hours! the last two days i have had diarrhea!! what can i do to get rid of this quick, i only have pepto at home, and will it eliminate the diarrhea or just block it until it can't anymore? little-to no restroom breaks during that 7 hours, as i am the leader!! help! what for lunch??

immodium (over the counter) or call your doctor and ask for a prescription of lomotilif you do not want to take anything and just want to change your diet follow the BRAT diet and other starchy foods help ( BRAT- bananas, rice, apples(must be peeled), toast, starchy foods are foods like potatoes)and drink plenty of water as well as something like gatoraid (frequent diarrhea causes you to loose electrolytes very quickly and sports drinks contain them so you can replenish your electrolyte stores)avoid high simple sugar content foods as these foods can worsen diarrhea by osmosis (avoid foods like soft drinks, undiluted apple juice, jello and any presweetened cereals) avoid fried and fatty foods as these foods delay stomach emptying and also avoid high insoluble fiber foods- they bring in more water to help loosen stools and are better for constipation (like apple SKINS as well as bean skins, berries, grapes, whole wheat) but increase high soluble fiber foods these foods bulk up the stool and slow down food as it passes thru your intestines (think foods like oatmeal and bran, white bread, rye bread)
