Question:

reaction iron phosphate?

I need of iron phosohate. How can I make iron phosphate.( Stock: phosphoric acid and iron oxide III and sodium phosphate and carbonat sodium)I‘m having a lot of phosphorus.thank youGood luck

Answer:

Iron(III) phosphate is insoluble in water so you need to do a double displacement between a soluble iron salt and a soluble phosphate. 1] add sodium cabonate to the phosphoric acid until it just stops fizzing [CO2]. You now have sodium carbonate solution. 2] dissolve your iron(III) oxide in acid eg fairly strong HCl to an iron salt. 3] mix both solutions and filter and wash the precipitate of iron(III) phosphate
