Question:

Recipe for roasting Thanksgiving Turkey in bag?

I have never cooked the turkey and thought a bag would ensure it comes out moistAnyone have a recipe w/ detailed directionsAre the bags available in any grocery store this time of year? Also, do the wings dry out w/ this method? I always remember my mom covering them w/ aluminum foil, but she didint use a bag.

Answer:

Boiling Point Of Aluminum
Melting Point Of Aluminum
Aluminum is of a higher molecular wt it is also more densely packed in its pure form then is sodium (don't know exact crystal lattice of either)On melting you are going from one phase of matter to another no ions are produced, but to reach the triple point (the true m.pt.) of any solid you must reach the point where the solid liquid and vapor are all at the same tempIf I remember correctly, check a p-chem book on eutectic points.
The reason why Al (Ne] 3s^2 3p^1) has the higher mp than Na is because all the valence e? participate in band formation and bondingThe 3p band overlaps with the 3s band and results in strong bondingAnd yes it does to some extent on the close packing nature of Al (Al is ccp with 12:12 coord)In Na ([Ne] 3s^1) only the 3s band is important and is bcc (8:8 coord) and hence bonding is weak: fewer e? in the bonding band MOs and Na can be cut with a plastic knifeThe reason why metals such as W are strong is that are a whole bunch of d e? to contribute to band formation and bonding, and the bands are approximately only half occupied and hence strongly bondingOn the other hand, the reason why Cu, Ag, and Au ([ ] nd^10 (n+1) s^1) are so soft is because the d band is full (equal number of bonding and antibonding e?) and contributes little to the bondingIt is the ns band that is responsible for bonding and like the group 1 metals the metallic bonding is weak.
Preparing a turkey in an oven cooking bag can be a safe and a delicious alternative to the traditional roasting methodIn this technique, a large heat tempered plastic cooking bag especially designed for oven temperatures is usedBags can be purchased in the paper goods section of most grocery storesInstructions for use are printed on the boxWhen using an oven-cooking bag, preheat the oven to 350°FTo prevent bursting, a tablespoon of dry flour is shaken around to coat the empty bag and slits are cut in the bag to allow steam to escapeThe pan holding the turkey in the bag must be large enough so the bag does not hang over the sidesAllow ample space for the bag to expand during cooking so that it does not touch the top or sides of the oven or it will meltThis method produces a moist-heat cooking environmentUse a meat thermometer inserted right through the plastic into the innermost part of the thighA whole turkey is safe when cooked to a minimum internal temperature of 165 °F as measured with a food thermometerCheck the internal temperature in the innermost part of the thigh and wing and the thickest part of the breastFor reasons of personal preference, you may choose to cook the turkey to higher temperaturesHOPE THIS HELPS.if not u can google it though
