Question:

Repair Windows 7 boot loader without dvd?

I installed XP after Windows 7 (in different partitions) and now i cant boot windows 7, so i want to repair windows 7 boot loader so i can dual boot normally.and i dont have the Windows 7 dvd!

Answer:

Find the most up to date version of the Windows Loader. The most recent versions are not detectable by the safeguards put in place by Microsoft. Updates are often published every few weeks to months. Disable your antivirus software temporarily. Because the process is so fast, you can even disable it for just 15 minutes. This should be enough to complete download, run the activator tool and restart your computer.

Windows 7 Boot Manager Repair
You need the Windows 7 'bootsect.exe' program. It will rebuild the boot loader and can be safely executed from your Windows XP environment (first link). If you don't have a Windows 7 DVD, you can find the Windows 7 'bootsect.exe' program in the Windows 7 AIK (second link). It will be in the ToolsPETools directory.
