or it is better to leave it to a professional mechanic and forget about it?In this case the exhaust system is from a 1993 mercury sable,my transportation to high school.I do have the repair book and a bunch of tools,but i need some good tips!Thanks in advance guys.

If the whole exhaust system needs to be replaced, including the exhaust manifold, it is a daunting task for backyard mechanics. If only the muffler, the catalytic converter or section of pipe needs to be replaced, it's pretty easy.
