Ok, i know it is definitely a NO-NO to run my power cable through walls, but, what if I run the power cord through only to pull it out behind my entertainment center from the wall-plate my other cables come out, and plug in a surge protector?
That is against fire code, and could void your home-owner's insurance. An electrician can move your outlet for you for about $70.
Try running a plastic conduit on the face of the wall and paint it the color of the wall instead.
