check engine lights usually come on due to transmission problems.
Sounds like you have a short in a wiring harness somewhere. You'll need to take it to someone that handles electrical issues in cars.
delete the specture from your list it only replaces the filter it still leaves the factory intake wich is were most of your air restriction is me personally i run a granatelli on mine works great it replaces everything back to the throttle body i would also recomend a mass air sensor from granatelli that combo gave me about a 6 horsepower gain and helped me with mpgs
