If associates degrees are free, they'll have no more value in most cases than a high school degree does nowBut they will prepare students for certain health professions and it will allow them to save on the cost of two years of collegeOn the other hand, students should be required to maintain a certain grade average to get their degreesIf they can't manage a GPA of at least 2.0, they aren't learning the material well enough to do the job they're hoping to doSociety doesn't need incompetent fools running x-ray machines, building bridges or doing medical tests.
