Question:

Should I get a Cold Air Intake or Short Ram Intake for my 1999 Honda Civic?

Would a Cold Air Intake or a Short Ram Intake provide more horsepower for a 1999 Honda Civic DX? Would one provide better gas mileage than another?

Answer:

its been proven im pretty sure the best way to go is a cold air intake or a kn drop in filter. Short rams arent that great because they suck in hot air in the engine bay. The stock intake and cold airs are directed to colder air. So in short, cold air intake which give more power and mpg
I would get a Short Ram Intake. Cold Air Intake provide more horsepower.
the short ram sucks the same amount of air as the cold air intake system the only difference is the temp of the air now the cold air system is further from the engine so its colder air BUT it is usually closer to the ground so if the road it wet your engine can inhale some water so the power to risk ratio says go short ram intake id go with apexi ive seen different brands all dyno tested and for my 89 supra the apexi came out on top and gave me a 14hp gain with the short ram also small increase in mpg but not that noticable
