ok well i want to join the school talent show and i have a great voice iv been told buy a lot of people only the talent show is in the afternoon and i really want to sing for it should i join
If you want to join, then you should! Don't let people let you go down another path! It's always good to be who you are! Sing what you want!, wear what you want to wear, like that color? get it! Good luck on the talent show!

My only answer to this is why not? Is there something else you want to do or should be doing that afternoon? If not, then choose a song you really enjoy singing and do your best. No one can ask more than that. If it is a case of missing buses and that sort of thing - teachers and school secretaries can be really helpful if you ask them.
