I was getting ready to mop my station (I work in the pantry at a restaurant) and I added bleach to the mop bucket, and I usually add this degreaser stuff for the floors..but it wasn't there so I saw a different green bottle, so I figured they put it in there as a substitute. After pouring the bleach in I added the green bottle(Lime-a-way) and the water started fizzing really horribly. Well it stopped so I decided I would just add the hot water to it anyway. I added the hot water and walked away to grab something..I come back and these horrible fumes blow straight into my face, I back up..put my shirt over my face and eyes, and run back in there, turn the water off and dump the bucket back in the sink. I was just wondering if the chemicals they produced could have gotten into my system as I recently learned it can poison you and kill you if exposed.I'm not having any problems now, so I'm good right?
lime is CaO and lime water is Ca(OH)2
Lime = CaO Ca(OH)2 = slaked lime a solution of Ca(OH)2 is called lime water.
