My son is now 2 he will not sleep in his bed. Even if he is already sleeping and we put him in his bed he wakes right up. We have tried putting him in his bed and staying in his room till he falls asleep which works however 2 or 3 hours later he is running into the room screaming.
My suggestion is to just keep putting him in his bed. When he comes running into your room, but him back in his bed. If he wakes up again.. back in the bed. After a long and tired couple weeks, hopefully he will get the idea and stay in his bed. good luck!
give him some drowsy medicine before bed and i bet he wont wake up so much in the night to come running into your room.
Keep doing what you are doing. He will adjust. Believe me. This is actually very healthy as he is feeling anxiety over seperating from you. It's totally normal too.
We went through this with my son too. You will just have to be firm, patient and consistent. Put him in his bed, lay down with him for a few minutes (not until he falls asleep), read him a story, sing with him, talk to him, and then kiss him goodnight. Let him know he is a big boy and has to go night-night in his own bed now. When he gets up and runs into your room, hug him and then carry him back to his bed. This will take several nights and will become frustrating, but don't give in, even if he cries or screams. Eventually, he will become more secure and will stay in bed.
