Question:

Sorbitol and constipation? Could this help?

I have chronic constipation and I have noticed that when I eat the sugar free or low sugar ice cream it helps me to 'go' is there any other foods out there that have this ingredient? I have found that eating the ice cream helps me to 'go' naturally-there are no cramps or over medication which results in cramps and bloating-could this help? can you buy sorbitol or is it just in foods?

Answer:

COFFEE - Those plastic cans are kool but less oz.
they already beat you there with the eggs 6 for I believe it was 1.39 plus tax
They don't make Sweet 10 anymore apparently, which was a liquid sorbitol/saccharin liquidHowever, the diarrhea effect of sorbitol is not healthy.you might as well be taking laxatives every day because it's very hard on your innardsYour best bet is to start getting some soluble fiber every dayOatmeal, spinach, bran, and drink plenty of waterThe fiber will absorb the water you drink and form more bulk in your intestines to help keep you regularFiber Choice tablets are also easy to take, just make sure to drink plenty of water or it won't help you.
