Question:

Space Heater: Ceramic. Without a fan?

How does a ceramic electric heater work with no fan? I‘ve never owned one. Does it just heat up and radiate out? It seem like it would take slow to heat a room (10ftx10ft) if it has no fan.

Answer:

just clean, flux, heat the fitting and pipe together then add the solder when its hot - remove the heat when the solder has flowed completely around the fitting the large torch will just heat it quicker and shouldn't be a problem if its physically too big to fit in a confined space then buy a smaller one
Handheld propane torch with a medium burner head. Typical problem when soldering copper tube or pipes is lack of heat not too much. Another thing you might try is wet rags about a foot away from the joint on each side. This will dissipate the heat faster but the technique takes practice to get it right.
Usually the ceramics are infa red. They radiate rather that heat by convection. The same amount of heat goes into the room either way.
in case you want seems choose for the electrical powered fire. All they do is positioned an area heater in them. So your going to pay 3-500$ for an electric powered fire or $30 for an area heater and that they the two supply off a similar volume of heat. between 3 n 4000 BTU's.
Ceramic heaters are usually considered to be the best small or portable heaters. Ceramic can be heated to a very high temperature, it retains that heat well, then it releases the heat. A fan can be helpful to move the heat around, but in a small room like u describes it's probably not necessary. It really depends on what kind/brand u get and how much power it has. Some heaters heat up really fast and some take a long time. Go with a name brand if u can afford it and go for a size bigger then u think you'll need. In my experience the small room size heaters really don't work well to heat the entire room only an area of it. So they work good to set by your chair while you watch TV for example, but if u move to the couch you'd probably want to move the heater closer to you. I would try buying your heaters at someplace like walmart that good about returning things, that way you can try them out, and if u don't like it go back and get another one.
