Get a small space heater. it is much more efficient than trying to warm an entire house. And then of course, pile on more layers of clothes.
did you check the transmission fluid if it,s a automatic ? sounds like the fluid is pretty low ! a brand new transmission your looking around 2 or 3000 dollars ! if your going to get another transmission then your better off to get a good used one !
Get an electric blanket. They're fairly cheap, and cost just pennies per day to run.
