Question:

System boiler to combi boiler query?

In addition to my previous question. I am gas safe registered and I am fully aware of the safety aspects. I am a gas service engineer but I am not fully clued up on the water side of the old storage systems. A very quick brief run down would be great.

Answer:

I don't understand your question. Are you converting an old hydronic heating system to a new heating/hot water combination boiler? If that's the case, here's how it works; Since hot water is a year-round need, the boiler need to be on (ready to fire) all the time. The room thermostat controls only the circulation pump. Water temperature is maintained automatically just as it would be in a stand-alone water heater. The only difference is that you're using one burner and one tank instead of two. Does that answer your question?
i does no longer bypass to a combi until eventually you're easily determined for the gap that the HW cylinder presently occupies. A gadget boiler will very last more and also you'll do such issues as have pumped resources to showers. Plus no faffing with pipework.
