I've been drinking tea since I was little, and owned a company that imports, blends, and sells tea since 2000In my experience tea doesn't expireIt goes 'stale' and loses its vitality (flavor, nutrients, strength), but as long as it has not gotten moisture, excessive heat, or light it will stay ok to drink for many yearsIf your tea is in a foil package that is sealed and sat in a cupboard I personally would still drink itI have tea that I drink all the time from my company and others that are years past their expiration dateOne addition- teas that have oils, flavors, or sweeteners added may spoil faster, and teas that are fermented may get better over years.
