I have been on CAI websites and read the feedback of their customers. A lot of their customers are reporting better gas milage after installing their CAI.After reading about CAI‘s on Yahoo Answers, I am under the impression that colder air needs more fuel to combust efficiently.Are all the people who claim to be getting better gas milage after intalling a CAI on crack?(are these people lying or just ignorant?)Or am I misunderstanding how the Airflow meter(car computer) reacts to colder air?Is the following statement true?;The colder the air, that goes into an engine, the more fuel you will consume.
EVERY car made in the past 3 decades has Cold Air Intake! Cold Air Intake is simply a tube from the grille, or under the car, to the air filter! What people are doing when modifying their stock air intake systems (which by the way are designed by people with engineering degrees, not a high school dropout at your local custom shop), is actually changing it to HOT INTAKE: they're removing the tube and installing a conical air filter that breathes the hot air from under the hood.
A low restriction muffler would offer the biggest gain, since that's where the most resistance is. A low restriction muffler from flowmaster, or any other company should help.
