Some plants, such as clematis and lilies, require full sun but cool roots. Feet and face is partly to make it easier to remember, and partly cute marketing. A typical location can by anywhere they get adequate sunlight if the roots are shaded or generously mulched. I have daylilies in front of my clematis, which helps shade its roots along with the mulch. As long as yours are thriving, you're doing it right. Hope this helps
