Hi Guys.I'm a college a student who is wondering which tablet to buy. I really can't decide.I want to have a good tablet that I can type and hand write on it. A Tablet that can play 720p and 1080p mkv files. A Tablet that is good for pdf reading. This is all I want. The problem is these two tablets are really good. The New Ipad is running IOS 5 while Transformer Infinity is running ICS.I haven't had tablet before so I have no experience, please I'm open to any advice.
Hello, I'm brazilian and a student like you, In my opinion I guess you have to buy a transformer infinity Why? Because it's really better than the new iPad in many things. ? You will can write in the dock, but this dock is diferent of anyother of iPad docks 'cause it give to you an aditional batery life ? The display to is better than the iPad 'cause it's better to see any video on youtube or movies 'cause the display format. HD vs 4:3. I know that the iPad got a retina display, but it can't change the fact of 4:3 ? You're a student, so a device to you have to facility your life. Try to use a pen drive or a microSD card in an iPad, you can't. But in a transformer you will to use its. It will make a diference 'cause its faster than conect you device on a PC and use the iTunes. I could say many other things I never use a tablet too, and I want to buy one, I will buy the Infinity (when it comes to the Brazil, what I guess that happen in 2064) 'cause it's better to me. Lol I am having the same problem I think I might go for the iPad tho because I have heard a lot better reviews for it but it is more money and if it is the keyboard that u really want u can get one that connects over Bluetooth to the I pad
Since you want to write with it, I would suggest the Asus Transformer Infinity. You can connect it to the keyboard docking station (sold separately) and use it as a sort of laptop replacement. Touchscreen is bad for typing anything more than a couple of words here and there. Of course with the iPad you can use a stand + bluetooth keyboard but it's much more hassle. Transformer display has a 16:10 format and iPad has a 4:3 format. This means the Transformer display is better for watching movies that come in 16:9 format (which would be all of them basically). Both have a high enough resolution to not make any difference in my opinion. Asus has 1920x1200 and iPad has 2048x1536. Those would be good even for a 25+ display so I don't think you will even notice a difference when they are crammed in a small 10 display. Different people have different needs, but based on what you said you want to do, I would suggest the Transformer.
