quickly gunned my 97 chevy tahoe 5.7 (opt M30) today but let off it before 2nd as soon as it shifted into second a loud snap came from the trans. Transmission wont shift into drive or 3rd but works fine in all others. fluid is fine and im not throwing any sensors. What breaks inside Causing it not to shift??? im still learning about the driveline. i guess this is the best way.
Transmissions are tough, and should handle ALL driving conditions. It's not your fault. You have two choices here. 1) Remove the transmission and try and fix the problem yourself, or 2) Bring it to a transmission shop and gamble that they won't rip you off. That's your only two options. Or. you could bring it to a dealer and REALLY get ripped off. that's NOT an option.
