Question:

Transmission drain plug in 01chryler 300m?

Where is the transmission drain plug located, i think i put to much transmission fluid in my car and now my transmission is skipping and my rpm keeps climbing without shifting gears. can anyone help?

Answer:

There is no transmission drain plug on that model. For the most part only models with either an inline filter or Lifetime Fluid have a drain plug. You have two choices. 1. Drop the pan and drain the fluid. If you're going to do that I suggest you have it done at the shop (not the local fast change), so that you don't over-tighten the bolts and bend or deform the pan when reinstalling it. As long as it's off may as well change the filter as well. 2. Go to the Auto Parts Store or Home Depot and get an small hand (transfer) pump (see link below) with a long piece of tubing ($5-$15) insert the tube into the Transmission Fill Tube and pump it out. You may run into a Parts guy that has know idea what your talking about as some parts people these days. But they do exist, I used to sell them all the time. Also the condition you're describing is an indication of not enough fluid as well. So be sure you know if it's too full or too low before doing anything. Too much fluid can burn out the pump, so don't drive it in that condition.
Have to drop the Transmission Pan like you would on most vehicles, no other way. And when your under there you should change out that transmission filter too.
If you cannot find it, there is no drain plug. You have to remove the whole pan.
