Question:

Transmission Fluid Changes

How much does it usually cost to have your transmission fluid changed and does anyone have a good recommendation of where to go? I have a 98 Honda Accord.

Answer:

Remember back to your childhood and the bumpy ride of your tricycle. No amount of suspension could make up for solid tires.
Not sure of the cost as I do my own. It'll vary from place to place. I'd recommend having a transmission shop do it or a dealer. Definitely wouldn't let a Jiffy Lube type place do it. Don't get a flush. MAke sure they change the fluid and the filter.
I am a transmission builder, I do not recommend changing the transmission fluid at all if you do not know the history of the car. If the fluid is old use it again, never add brand new fluid to an old transmission, to do so will peel the clutches off and lay them in the transmission pan.
I just got my transmission flushed and the filter changed at a dodge dealership for $119 dollars. I would suggest that if you are going to get a transmission flush to do it at a honda dealership or the dealership you got your car at. Since your car is a 98 I would just reccomend a transmission fluid change and not a flush along with a filter change
