Question:

Transmission fluid leaking.somewhere?

I have a 2003 GMC Denali XL that the tranny fluid is needing to be re-filled periodocally. It is not a whole lot, about 3 quarts in the last year, but the deal is, there is absolutely no leaking anywhere to be seen. No residue or anything. Anyone have any idea what may be causing this?

Answer:

take the inspection plate off the transmission and see if there,s any transmission fluid in it ! maybe it,s leaking a little into the radiator from a hole in the cooler !
You oughta check your engine coolant, and make sure you don't see transmission fluid floating at the top. It is possible that your transmission cooler inside your radiator ruptured, causing transmission fluid to mix with engine coolant.
There are limited areas for leakage. The transmission itself and the cooling lines that run up to the radiator. Have you carefully checked the lines to the radiator and those connections? It's such a slow leak and may only be leaking when running, so you wouldn't see a puddle, it would just drip while driving. Your only clue is going to be a stain where the leak is. If it's at a connector, it may have a clear path to the ground and may not be splashing on anything.
