Question:

transmission fluid type?

I have a 2008 dodge avenger sxt 2.4Li would like to change the oil in my transmission.can anyone in this world need tell my what is the type transmission fluid ?

Answer:

It is going to cost more, and there may be a compatible spec aftermarket fluid, but I suggest just getting the mopar fluid from a dealer or online. You don't change your transmission fluid that often so worth the extra funds. Check the manual for the fluid spec if you want aftermarket fluid.
This is not something you should tackle yourself. It requires special equipment, and probably a pan gasket, and a filter. The way they do it is through the cooling lines and that assures a full fluid change, but you really need a specialized recovery system. Some oil changers do this, but it is imperative that they change the filter. Some of them don't do that.
HI, the proper type of fluid should be stamped on the dip stick. If not then the owners manual. Now here's the problem The only amount you can change is the amount of fluid that is in the pan and don't forget the filter, its inside the pan. Now a transmission holds aprox. 12 to 14 qts of fluid. But the majority of the fluid is in the Torque converter, and just dropping the pan you well only be changing 4 qts. and you well still have about 10 qts. of dirty fluid left in the transmission if you want to get it all out you would need a flush job good luck tim
have your battery tested
