Question:

transmission fluid??????????

What is the correct transmission fluid for a 90 Saturn, automatic? ATF or AFF?TY

Answer:

This would be a major project. Home fabricated A-arms, and a lot of engineering. Unless you know front end and suspension theory, do not even attempt it. I am sure it could be done, but I am not so sure the results would be worth the work.
shocks only dampen suspension movement struts are actually bear the weight of the car, with the springs, so NO!!!
ATF. I had a 92 Saturn SL1. I balive that ATF was the factory spec. fluid to use. At is assuming it is a automatic trans.
ATF also known as Dextron. ATF just stand for automatic trans fluid
ATF just means automatic transmission fluids, there are several different kinds of ATF, I've never heard of AFF or Dextron (I'm sure they mean Dexron.) That being said, there is an ATF that works for most, but not all cars. It's good for Dexron II, Dexron III and Mercon fluids and it's what most domestic vehicles made before 2005 use. That being said, don't take a guess on this, not even an educated guess like mine. Go to a knowledgeable shop and ask or pick up a haynes manual or buy it at the dealer the first time--maybe just pick up a quart of their expensive stuff and then go buy the rest from the wal-mart around the corner. Like I said, be careful with this one, you've gotten three wrong answers out of the four that were given. Dexron III and IV aren't interchangeable, follow that advice and there's a 50% chance (or better, I'm not sure it's Dexron at all for that car) you'd be throwing $1,500 at a new transmission in a couple weeks.
